Rita Rudner: The funniest female ever?

Over the years there have been many great female comics that have starred on sitcoms, variety shows, or stand-up specials. The notable ones are Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Lily Tomlin, Ellen Degeneres, Roseanne Barr, Sandra Bernhard, and Whoopi Goldberg. My favorites are Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes-Hall, Lisa Lampanelli, and Kathy Griffin. All of these women that I’ve mentioned are very talented and very funny. But none of these women can be compared to Rita Rudner. Rita Rudner may be the funniest female ever. When you look at her career, you'll see that she’s been nominated for Cable Ace Awards for her 1989 HBO special and had high rated comedy specials on A&E in the mid 90’s. And she’s had a best selling book. But she’s very underrated and doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. This is because she doesn’t fit the stereotype of a female comic. She’s too sweet and too ladylike. For this reason she has been overlooked time and time again. And most people have forgotten about her. Comedy Central didn’t even put her in their 100 greatest stand-up comedians of all time. How disrespectful. She’s not loud or offensive. Her comedy is clever, witty, and entertaining. She makes observations on life and offers her point of view on dating, men, age, and pet peeves. She smoothly transitions from one topic to the next. And her punchlines are brilliant - Rodney Dangerfield-esque. If she’s not the funniest female ever, she’s definitely one of the funniest females ever. I first saw one of her specials on Comedy Central years ago and I thought it was brilliant. I remember thinking she’s funny and kind of hot too. Till this day, I’ve never seen anyone deliver punchlines and one liners the way she does. I would put her in my top ten greatest comedians ever. Screw you Comedy Central! In my eyes, Rita Rudner will always be a legend in the comedy world, and she’ll always be funnier than Gallagher and Carrot Top combined. If you want to see how funny she is, watch the video below and judge for yourself. She is greaaatttt!
